When it's gone, it's gone. No factories, no reorders. We source locally, cut by hand, and sew each one ourselves. That's why no two fabrics are exactly alike — and why finding yours feels like finding something.

Cinnamon Roll. Pop Tart. Beer. Butter. Coffee. Nine trail tags, each one a love letter to the best part of any hike. It's not just a label — it's a whole personality.
Trail brain. Even on a Tuesday.
Handmade in Michigan by the same person who makes the technical gear. Worn by people who are always a little bit on the trail — even when they're not.
Built for the fun of it.

Regular: 20" circumference · fits head ~21–22.5"
Large: 22" circumference · fits head ~22.5–24"
Width: approximately 3.5" when worn
Fleece has natural stretch
Not sure which size? Head circumference under 22.5" → Regular. 22.5" or over → Large.
If you're after serious miles, see the Technical Line.
Measure around your head at mid-forehead, just above your ears. Under 22.5 inches → Regular (20" circumference). 22 inches or over → Large (22" circumference). If you're right on the line, go Large — the fleece stretches naturally and a slightly relaxed fit is more comfortable than one that's too snug. Our model's head measures 22 inches and wears Regular.
Yes — that's the whole point. You pick the fabric colorway from the dropdown, then choose your trail tag separately. Both selections are required before you can add to cart. The trail tag is sewn directly into the headband seam before it ships, so it arrives ready to wear.
Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Lay flat or hang to dry — the fleece dries fast. Do not put in the dryer on high heat; it can mat the fleece fibers over time. No fabric softener — it coats the fibers and changes the texture. On trail, a quick rinse in camp water and a night hung in the tent will have it ready by morning.
Probably not that exact one. Because the fabric is thrift-sourced, every colorway is genuinely limited — there's no factory to reorder from. When a fabric sells out, it's gone. New fabrics get added as we source them. Follow us on Instagram @forgewelloutdoor to see new colorways before they go live. Each new haul is announced there first.
